Finally, our specialty’s legacy of excellence is demonstrated through the profile of Dr. John Gladney, and our future is bright based on the profiles of some of our new academic department chairs (“Visions of the Future”). Like Dr. Gladney, each of us has the opportunity and responsibility to inspire students and residents to go on to become accomplished otolaryngologists like Dr. Thompson and Dr. Bond. Previous department chairs like Dr. Gladney and current department chairs advance our specialty through the departments they cultivate, the many excellent clinicians they train, and the next generation they inspire.
